Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong was born February 8, 1984. She is an American actress and comedian. Strong is most notable for her role as a character on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. She's also the longest-running woman in the show's early years. Strong was a CalArts graduate who performed improv at The Second City in Chicago. She currently has a starring part in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! She is also co-producing the show (2021 until present).



 



 She also voiced The Awesomes (2013 to 2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her debut book The Memoir This Is Going to be Over Soon Soon, was published.



 



 As a result of her work on Saturday Night Live, she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Comedy Series at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and raised in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who served as the Associated Press bureau chief and as of 2013 ran his own company of public relations. Penny Legler Strong has extensive knowledge of nursing and has worked in a variety of local hospitals. Strong is the daughter of divorced parents. Strong watched SNL with her mother when she was a child. She would reenact sketches with her best companion and then watch the older SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a collection of the greatest commercials, and I wore it all day long." She said that Phil Hartman was a source of inspiration for her.
